Rear Camera/Flash Issues Recurring after multiple hard resets

Hi All,

So I've been having issues with my rear camera on Nexus 5 (my front facing camera works fine). Currently the camera and the flash will not work and basically stopped working some time around the upgrade to lollipop. While on lollipop, I tried uninstalling the app updates, restarting, clearing the cache...all the usual suggestions I've found online for dealing with this issue, but none of them work. Now, I'm currently running 6.0 and still the camera/flash are not working. Tonight I tried wiping the phone and reverting all the way back to kitkat 4.4.4 to see if that would fix it. I tried this multiple times, wiping and reflashing to various versions ranging from 4.4.0 to 6.0 to see if any would somehow fix the camera issue, but none worked.

At this point, I'm back on 6.0 and its still not working. My phone doesn't even show the default camera app in the app drawer. I have to access it through the shortcut on the lock screen and when I do I get the "Can't connect to the camera" message. I'm assuming its a hardware issue at this point, but wanted to know if anyone has any insight on this. From what I can tell, the flash is not part of the camera module, so if the camera itself broke, it seems like the camera flash should still be recognized and functional (its not in my case, not even an option for the default flashlight on the taskbar pull-down screen). I am wondering if its worth buying an oem replacement camera module and installing it to see if this fixes the issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

WiFi Issues

Hello, I have been having issues connecting to WiFi for the last month or so and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and knows how to fix it.

For whatever reason my phone is now unable to find any WiFi networks while scanning. I downloaded a wifi manager from the app store and was able to see the available networks from there and manually add them on my phone, but even that has stopped working this past week.

Possible relevant information:

I am rooted running the Revolution ROM for Verizon. I use App Ops and Greenify, I initially thought I may have messed something up while messing with settings in App Ops, but I deleted it and the issue still occurs.

I am pretty sure this is not related, but around the same time I started having these wifi issues I stopped being able to play back videos I have recorded on my phone. As soon as I hit the play button I get an error stating "playback failed". This is still an issue as well.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas what could cause this?

Hopefully not plagued by GPS issues

I currently have the Nexus 5 and am pretty fed up with trying to use it for navigation. I believe the last time it worked decent was with Kit Kat. After loading LP that all changed. Thankfully Google finally acknowledged the issue in their bug tracker which has been open for quite a long time. If I do intend on using the GPS on the 5, I have to leave it on my dashboard. If I pick up the phone to do anything with it, it immediately loses GPS reception. Also while running GPS simultaneously while listening to Google Music (music stored locally, not streaming), the phone gets extremely hot and sluggish and also even while on a charger (2A output) seems to lose battery percentage.

I have since loaded Marshmallow on my 5 and it definitely more responsive but obviously Google hasn't resolved the GPS issue and it still seems to drain the battery while on charger and using GPS and music.

I have tried doing factory resets, etc but it hasn't resolved the draining issue or of course the GPS issue.

I've decided to hold off on buying either the 5X or 6P simply because I've been burned just about every time I've bought a Nexus phone on launch day. My first nexus was the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and we all know how much of a POS that was. Mainly a quiet speaker, horrible screen, horrible battery life mainly due to how badly tuned it was on LTE, sluggish. The Nexus 5 was plagued with a crappy speaker (AGAIN), and after time wireless charging wouldn't work properly due to the contacts within the phone become oxidized or corroded from arcing.

I've heard the 5X has a pretty lousy speaker as well so mainly because of that alone I was already leaning toward the 6P.

I'm hoping to hear from early adopters if there's any unforeseen issues with displays, GPS, signal/antenna, speaker, etc.

Samsung GT-N700 (Galaxy Note 1): Search available networks & data connectivity issues

Hello everyone!

Recently I rooted my phone Samsung GT-N700 (Galaxy Note 1) and installed the Paranoid Android 5.1; but since then I am constantly facing issues with my phone network connectivity.

I am facing these issues:
1. Unable to search available cellular networks- whenever I search for available networks, it shows me an error message saying "Error in searching for networks". Just on 1 OR 2 occasions there was no error, but the result was also empty saying- "No networks found". The phone does get connected to default service provider, but when I travel to other places, I am not able to search and connect to others networks.
2. Phone's network signal constantly shows an exclamation mark in it. Only when I enable the data network, some times it shows full network connectivity (without any exclamation mark).
3. Data network connection continuously keeps on dropping and connection is very weak- this used to happen in my company provided OS, but the frequency was very low (like 2 OR 3 times a day). But since this OS update, I get disconnected from data network around 20-25 times in a day.
As a side effect of this issue, I am not able to connect to Google play to download any new apps or even update the existing ones! Only when I connect to a Wi-Fi network, I can connect to Google play.

Is there anyone out there facing/faced similar issue? If there is any solution/tweaking to this issue, comments OR suggestions are most welcome! :) :)
