Possible solution to recover the second SIM IMEI
I'm not responsible if you brick or loose your IMEI again. I'm writing this assuming that if you are/was already screwed by the infamous lost IMEI problem, you have nothing to loose.
Though I didn't tested it in my own phone (D410hn), I believe it's going to work, possibly in other dual-SIM variants too.
I used Windows XP SP3, but it *must* works in Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit). Not sure about Windows 8.1 and 10.
I had to mask some stuff to preserve my personal data, some masked stuff are probably not sensitive data but who knows, better safe than sorry.
1. Tools needed.
1.1 - Qualcomm Product Support Tools (QPST 2.7 build 402): https://www.mediafire.com/?cffk8jc08h17fgy
1.2 - HxD (or any other decent HEX editor): http://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD
1.3 - IMEI converter: https://www.mediafire.com/?cffk8jc08h17fgy
1.4 - LG Mobile Support Tool: http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/client...2CAppSetup.exe
Possible problems:
1.1a - QPST gives an error and stops the install.
Solution: Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable x86: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=3387
2. Enable USB debugging.
2.1 - In your phone, navigate to Apps > Settings > About phone > Software info then tap Build number seven times.
2.2 - Navigate to Apps > Settings > Developer options, ensure the Developer options switch (located in the (upper right) is turned on.
2.3 - Tap USB debugging to enable.[/b]
3. Enable Port check test.
3.1 - Open your phone dialer and dial 3845#*410#, Hidden Menu will popup.
3.2 - Navigate to Port check test (in end of the menu) and tap the switch to turn on. Port check Test must read Enabled (Port check value: 1).
Possible problems:
3.1a - Hidden menu is not appearing.
Solution: Change the 410 to your variant number, if you are on D405, dial 3845#*405#, and so on.
4. Setup COM port in QPST.
4.1 - First, check in which COM port your phone is connected. This can be done just by looking in Device Manager > Ports (COM & LPT) > LGE Mobile USB Serial Port (COMx)
4.2 - Navigate to C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\QPST\bin and open QPSTConfig.exe (If you are in 64-bit Windows, it's C:\Program Files (x86)\...).
4.3 - Select Ports > Add New Port...
4.4 - Untick Show Serial and USB/QC Diagnostic ports only. COM ports will show up above.
4.5 - Select the serial port where your phone is attached (saw on step 4.1), something like COMx - USB/Unknown Data Modem (LGE Mobile USB Modem, YouPhoneID and press OK.
5. Download your QCN data.
5.1 - On the menu, open Start Clients > Software Download.
5.2 - Select Backup tab. If your COM port is not automatically selected or showing No Ports Active, click on browser, select your COM port and select OK.
5.3 - Below, on QCN file, select a path to save your QCN file, click on Browse... and select a folder. Click on Start and wait a few minutes, a file around 356kb with the QCN extension will be saved to the folder your selected.
6 - Injecting your IMEI in your QCN file.
6.1 - You first have to know your original IMEIs. You can find them in your phone box or printed on the sticker in your battery slot.
6.2 - Open the QCN file with HxD. In D410hn QCN, the offsets for the IMEIs are the following:
Things you must notice before continuing:
- I'm going to show just the two first HEX values of my IMEI for learning purposes.
- The offset values I found are for the D410hn variant, for other models it may be different, I know a way to find those addresses if needed but I won't cover in this first post to not make things longer.
- Those are your IMEIs in HEX form, in 9 addresses as shown below. They are not a plain text to HEX conversion.
- The HEX value ALWAYS starts with 08.
- IMEI is always a 15 digit numer.
IMEI A: Offset 00017500 to 00017508
IMEI B: Offset 00001F18 to 00001F20
6.3 - With your IMEIs you found in step 6.1, open the IMEI calculator and convert both.
Let's say your IMEI A is 123456789123456, the converted HEX value is 08 1A 32 54 76 98 21 43 65, go to 00017500 offset and write the value.
Now your IMEI B, let's say its 987654321987654, the converted HEX value is 08 9A 78 56 34 12 89 67 45, go to 00001F18 offset and write the value.
File > Save.
7 - Return the modified QCN file to your phone.
7.1 - Repeat step 4, if COM port is already setup, just open QPSTConfig.exe said on step 4.2.
7.2 - On the menu, open Start Clients > Software Download.
7.3 - Select Restore tab. Repeat step 5.2 to make sure your COM port is selected, and now browse the modified QCN file you edited in HxD in step 6. Click on Start and wait.
8 - Restart your phone. Disable USB Debugging and Enable Port check test, open your phone dialer and dial #*06#. Check your IMEI A and B.
GOOD LUCK! :good:
